Lisa: Welcome
Molly. Could you introduce yourself and tell us a little about you?
Molly: My name is Molly Davis. I’m an intervention teacher from
Delaware, Ohio.
Lisa: And
how much weight have you lost since you started your program at Positive
Changes Hypnosis?
Molly: I’ve lost 21 pounds and have gone down 2 clothing sizes since the
start of my program.
Lisa: Oh
great! Did you hit your initial goal, and if so, at what point in your program
did you hit your goal?
Molly: Oh, yeah, I definitely hit my goal. I’d say I lost 5 pounds, on average, in the
first few weeks. 10 weeks into the program, I hit my goal of 20 pounds. I’m now
at a size and a weight that’s very maintainable for me.
Lisa: Can
you share a little bit about what was going on in your life that prompted you
to call Positive Changes and come in for your evaluation?
Molly: I’m an emotional eater. I eat when I’m happy, I eat when I’m sad,
I eat when I’m stressed. I like food, and I especially like to eat food that’s
not very good for me. I considered myself to be a ‘heavy snacker’. My routine
used to be: breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. I would have a bowl
of popcorn or a little dish of ice cream at night.

I used to offset my eating by staying active. I’ve actually trained for
and completed a triathlon. I like the elliptical and love to swim and play golf
in the summer. However, it’s been
more difficult to stay active in the last five years or so. I work full time
and we have a 5 year-old daughter who keeps us very busy with dance lessons and
gymnastics. Life just always seems
so busy and hectic that it was difficult to find “Molly time” to stay active.
The pounds continued to pile up so I tried different diets. I tried
counting calories and eating better. I tried just about everything, but I was
never able to stick with it. It might last a little while, but I always seemed
to gain the weight back. I didn’t like the dieting and working so hard for
little or no results. I care about how people perceive me, and I didn’t like
the size I saw in the mirror. I felt like I was some other person trapped in
this big body. I knew this wasn’t who I was supposed to be. Deep down, I knew
something needed to change in my head. I needed something to click for me.
I happened to see the commercial on TV, but I didn’t call right away
because I was recovering from foot surgery. After a couple of months, I was
fully mobile again and decided to give it a try.
Lisa: So,
can you tell me a little about the evaluation process, how you felt initially?
Molly: I was nervous, initially, because I didn’t know what to expect at
the evaluation. I was also skeptical because I’ve tried so many different
things. I didn’t realize how much it would change me, or in what ways. If you
ask anybody that tries something new, a part of them will wonder, “Is this
really going to work?” I wondered that too, but the evaluation process made me
feel better. I decided to
give it a try and am so happy that I did.
It was the best decision I could have made.
Lisa: When
you came in for your first session, did you notice any changes right away?
Molly: I noticed right away that I didn’t need to snack throughout the day anymore. The best part is, I don’t
feel deprived at all! Initially, I was worried I would miss the snacks, or that
I would get hungry in between meals, but it just wasn’t the case at all.
We had a couple of days here at school where we’ve had some luncheons
and everybody brings food in. At first, because I know I’m an all-or-nothing
person, I didn’t eat any chocolate or desserts. I stuck to the proteins and the
vegetables. I was afraid to have that first snack. But now I know that I can
have a chocolate or an Oreo cookie or dessert without hitting this downward
spiral and losing all control.
This process has had a wonderful impact on my daughter, too. She
understands that we’re not eating to be skinny – we’re eating to be healthy.
We’re eating to feed our bodies and to do the right thing for them. We eat a
protein, and my daughter knows what protein is. We eat vegetables regularly. So
regularly, in fact, that when we do something different, like pizza night,
she’ll say, “Mom, why aren’t we having a vegetable?” (Oh that’s
cute!)
It’s cute, and I’m so proud of her. These changes are going to make us
healthy people and live longer and be happy.

Lisa: Out
of all the benefits that you’ve had, what do you feel is the most important
benefit you got from your program?
Molly: I’m a confident person. Inside, I know who I am. I know what I
can do. I’m a good teacher; a great mom. I’m all of these things. Before, I
knew how I looked on the outside didn’t match up with who I was on the inside.
Since my program with Positive Changes, I am confident that who I am on the
inside is reflected on the outside as well. (Right)
Sometimes, it’s hard for me to remember what I look like to other people
because the change was so natural. I know I must look different because people
see me and make comments like “Oh my gosh, you’re so skinny!” or “You look so
good!” It’s a new experience, because I’ve never been thin before. Even now, I
see pictures of myself, but I don’t really think of myself as ‘skinny.’
Instead, I think of myself as ‘healthy.’ I know that I’m taking care of myself.
I’m eating right, and making good choices. I love looking in the mirror and
knowing I made this happen. I’m so
proud of my accomplishments, and I feel really good about where I am now.
I had a lot of clothes, but I hated the way they looked on me. I looked
heavy, so I tried to hide it. I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. Now I don’t
worry when I get dressed in the morning. I’m comfortable in my own skin again.
Now I worry about not having enough clothes! Having to buy a new wardrobe is a
GREAT problem to have!
Lisa: That’s
awesome! So, if somebody were considering calling Positive Changes, what would
you say to them?
Molly: I would definitely recommend Positive Changes Hypnosis 100%. If
you want something that is going to change you in a positive way, and you’re
ready for a change, give it a try. Pick up the phone and, at the very least, go
to the free evaluation. But you have to be willing to accept a change in your
mind. I was ready for a change, so I gave it a try. I am so glad I made the
decision to go with Positive Changes.
Lisa: Okay,
is there anything else that you want to add about your program, yourself, your
family, anything else you would want someone who was reading your testimonial
to know?
Molly: This program helped me understand why I ate, when I ate, where I
ate, and what I ate. It changed all of my ideas about food to a way that’s
healthy instead of detrimental. It’s changed my life, and my family’s life for
the better. I feel like I’ve hit the lottery. This is definitely an experience
that changed me from the inside out.
